CDC: Người Afghanistan đến Hoa Kỳ bị nhiễm bệnh sởi, lao và sốt rét
Trung tâm Kiểm soát và Phòng ngừa Dịch bệnh (CDC) cho biết những người Afghanistan được đưa vào Hoa Kỳ đem theo những loại virus bao gồm sốt rét, sởi và lao, cũng như COVID-19.
Cơ quan y tế cho biết người Afghanistan sẽ phải nhận vaccine phòng bệnh sởi và trải qua quá trình kiểm dịch. Kể từ tháng trước (08/2021), chính phủ Tổng thống Biden đã chiêu mộ hàng nghìn công dân Afghanistan sau khi chính phủ của họ sụp đổ trong bối cảnh chính quyền Taliban tiếp quản.
Tính đến thứ Hai (20/09), CDC cho biết, cơ quan này “đã được các sở y tế công cộng thông báo về 16 trường hợp mắc bệnh sởi nằm trong số những người di tản. Tất cả các bệnh nhân được xác nhận mắc bệnh sởi đều đã được cách ly và chăm sóc, và những người tiếp xúc không có miễn dịch đều đã được chích vaccine MMR hoặc, nếu không đủ điều kiện chích vaccine, sẽ được dùng huyết thanh miễn dịch (immunoglobulin).” MMR đề cập đến bệnh sởi (measles), quai bị (mumps) và rubella.
CDC viết rằng: “Những người di tản đang ở Hoa Kỳ đều được yêu cầu chích vaccine MMR và hoàn thành quá trình cách ly 21 ngày kể từ thời điểm chích ngừa tại các địa điểm được chỉ định [là] ‘Nơi trú ẩn An toàn’ của Hoa Kỳ, chẳng hạn như các căn cứ quân sự.
Ngoài bệnh sởi, bệnh lao và bệnh sốt rét ra, thì CDC cho biết rằng có những lo ngại về việc những người di tản này đang có nguy cơ gia tăng mắc “bệnh lỵ do khuẩn shigella, bệnh tiêu chảy do khuẩn giardia, bệnh do cryptosporidium, viêm gan A, virus rota, và các bệnh tiêu chảy do virus.”
Theo thông cáo này, CDC “cũng đang nhận thấy một số trường hợp mắc bệnh thủy đậu, quai bị, bệnh lao, sốt rét, bệnh do nhiễm leishmania, viêm gan A và COVID-19 ở những người di tản. Bắt đầu từ tháng trước (08/2021), quân đội Hoa Kỳ đã dẫn đầu một cuộc di tản hỗn loạn và gấp rút trong bối cảnh Taliban tiếp quản đất nước sau cuộc rút quân của lực lượng Hoa Kỳ. Trong khi người ta cho rằng số người Mỹ phải được di tản là một vài ngàn người, thì số người Afghanistan được đưa ra khỏi đất nước này trên các chuyến bay quân sự còn nhiều hơn thế.
Hôm thứ Ba (21/09), Taliban bắt đầu bổ nhiệm nhiều quan chức hơn vào chính phủ lâm thời của quốc gia này.
Phát ngôn viên chính của Taliban, ông Zabihullah Mujahid cho biết rằng ông Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir sẽ là thứ trưởng quốc phòng, trong khi ông Sadr Ibrahim được bổ nhiệm làm thứ trưởng nội vụ. Cả hai người này đều được cho là sẽ đảm nhận các vị trí quan trọng trong chính phủ mới nhưng đều không có tên trong danh sách chính về các bộ trưởng được công bố trong tháng này.
