Công nhân bịa chuyện cháu bé bị chém, lừa hàng nghìn người làm từ thiện
Phan Văn Tài sử dụng nhiều tài khoản facebook ảo đăng thông tin kêu gọi từ thiện để lừa đảo, chiếm đoạt tiền của hàng nghìn nạn nhân trên khắp cả nước.
Trước đó, vào đầu tháng 12/2021, Công an thị xã Thái Hòa tiếp nhận đơn trình báo của công dân trên địa bàn về việc đã chuyển tiền cho một đối tượng không quen biết sau khi đọc được các bài đăng của người này trên mạng xã hội kêu gọi ủng hộ trẻ em tàn tật, có hoàn cảnh đáng thương.
Sau khi tiếp nhận tin báo, đơn vị đã phối hợp cùng Phòng An ninh mạng và phòng chống tội phạm sử dụng công nghệ cao (Công an tỉnh Nghệ An) nhanh chóng sử dụng các biện pháp nghiệp vụ, tiến hành xác minh tại nhiều địa phương trên cả nước.
Từ các tài liệu, chứng cứ thu thập được, cơ quan công an đã tiến hành bắt giữ khẩn cấp đối tượng Phan Văn Tài (SN 1996, trú tại xã Giang Sơn Tây, huyện Đô Lương, Nghệ An). Lúc bị bắt giữ, Tài đang làm công nhân tại tỉnh Bắc Ninh. Tang vật cơ quan Công an thu giữ là hơn 200 triệu đồng tiền mặt, 2 điện thoại di động, 3 thẻ ngân hàng.
Bước đầu, cơ quan chức năng xác định Phan Văn Tài đã sử dụng nhiều tài khoản mạng xã hội để đăng tải các bài viết sai sự thật trong các hội, nhóm từ thiện với nội dung kêu gọi sự giúp đỡ cho một cháu bé tại tỉnh Bắc Giang bị bố đẻ chém trọng thương (cơ quan công an xác định đây là nội dung không đúng sự thật).
Bằng thủ đoạn kêu gọi từ thiện nói trên, chỉ tính từ tháng 6/2021 đến khi bị bắt giữ, Phan Văn Tài đã lừa đảo hơn 1.600 nạn nhân ở khắp cả nước, chiếm đoạt số tiền 255 triệu đồng.
Hiện, Công an thị xã Thái Hòa đang tạm giữ hình sự đối tượng Phan Văn Tài để điều tra, làm rõ.
