Ca sĩ Phi Nhung qua đời ở tuổi 51
Sau một thời gian chống chọi với bệnh Covid-19, dù được các bác sĩ hết sức cứu chữa nhưng Phi Nhung không qua khỏi. Cô trút hơi thở cuối cùng vào trưa 28/9, hưởng dương 51 tuổi.
Trước đó, khi Phi Nhung chuẩn bị bay về Mỹ thì có dấu hiệu cảm nhẹ nên đi kiểm tra Covid-19 thì được xác định dương tính. Nữ ca sĩ ban đầu điều trị tại Bệnh viện Gia An 115. Sau đó bệnh tình chuyển nặng, Phi Nhung được chuyển sang Bệnh viện Chợ Rẫy vào 27/8.
Chiều 27/8, con gái ruột của Phi Nhung – Wendy chia sẻ với ca sĩ Trizzie Phương Trinh – vợ cũ Bằng Kiều: “Mẹ bị nhiễm Covid-19 và đang nằm trong ICU, không thở được, phải dùng đến máy trợ thở và bác sĩ phải lọc máu”. Trong hơn 1 tháng điều trị, tình hình sức khỏe Phi Nhung đã có những lúc tiến triển tốt, song dù đã được các bác sĩ tận tình cứu chữa, nữ ca sĩ đã không qua khỏi.
Trước khi mắc Covid-19, Phi Nhung rất nhiệt tình tham gia các hoạt động thiện nguyện, hỗ trợ nấu cơm gửi tới các y bác sĩ tuyến đầu.
Phi Nhung sinh ngày 10/4/1970, quê ở Gia Lai. Sinh ra trong hoàn cảnh gia đình khó khăn, cô chỉ được theo học đến hết lớp 6, sau đó chuyển sang làm nghề may mặc để kiếm sống. Tuy vậy, từ nhỏ Phi Nhung đã yêu thích âm nhạc, thích nghe những bài cải lương, dân ca và nuôi ước mơ trở thành một ca sĩ.
Vào năm 1989, Phi Nhung được sang Mỹ theo diện con lai và bắt đầu phát triển sự nghiệp tại đây, dưới sự giúp đỡ của Trizzie Phương Trinh. Năm 1998, Phi Nhung là nữ ca sĩ ra nhiều album nhất và doanh số bán chạy thuộc hàng kỷ lục nên người trong giới và khán giả đặt cho nghệ danh ”Nữ hoàng băng đĩa”.
Năm 2005, sau thời gian dài định cư ở Mỹ, ca sĩ về nước ca hát, kinh doanh. Phi Nhung được khán giả yêu mến khi thể hiện các ca khúc dân ca trữ tình như “Bông điên điển”, “Phải lòng con gái Bến Tre”… Ngoài ca hát, Phi Nhung còn tham gia nhiều lĩnh vực khác như diễn viên truyền hình, diễn viên điện ảnh, nghệ sĩ cải lương, nghệ sĩ kịch nói, nghệ sĩ hài, MC, giám khảo cho các cuộc thi âm nhạc như “Solo cùng bolero”, “Hãy nghe tôi hát”…
Cô nhận nuôi nhiều trẻ mồ côi, cơ nhỡ, trong đó có Quán quân The Voice Kids 2016 – Hồ Văn Cường – ăn học đến năm 18 tuổi. Chị có một con gái ruột – Wendy Phạm – hiện làm y tá tại Mỹ.
